A challenge for many home decorators out there is finding a rug that will not only fill the required space, but also liven up a room without drowning all the other furnishings out. With this in mind, it is best to consider the range of colours that the room in question already displays. A good basic rule of thumb is this; if your furniture is coloured or you have a lot of bright decorative pieces (like vases or wall art), consider going for neutral tones in your floor rug. If not, a lively graphic or block colour design may be for you. You don’t want to go down the road of too many loud, clashing colours.
